The cooling water circulation system is a kind of central air conditioning system. It refers to the water supply system for cooling water to heat and cool down and recycle. It is mainly composed of cooling equipment, pumps and pipelines, including open and closed two types. The principle of cooling water circulation system is a cooling water system that uses water as a cooling medium and uses it circulate. It is mainly composed of cooling equipment, water pump and pipe. The cooling equipment is divided into open and closed type, so the cooling water circulation system is also divided into two types: open and closed. The design and operation of the open system are more complicated.

Open type

The cooling equipment has two kinds of cooling pool and cooling tower, which mainly depend on the evaporation of water to reduce the temperature of water. Furthermore, the cooling tower is often used as a fan to promote evaporation, and the cooling water is often blown away. So open cooling water circulation system must be supplied with fresh water. Because of evaporation and concentration of circulating water, the concentration process will promote the scaling of salt. The supplemental water has a dilution effect, and the flow rate is often determined according to the limit of circulating water concentration. Usually, the amount of water is more than the loss of water from evaporation and wind, so some circulating water must be discharged to maintain the balance of water. The cooling water circulation system in the open system, because the water in contact with the air, dust and microorganisms into the circulating water; in addition, the carbon dioxide emission and material leakage for thermal equipment, water quality change of circulating water. For this reason, circulating cooling water often needs to be treated, including sediment control, corrosion control and microbial control. The determination of the treatment method is often related to the water quantity and water quality of the recharge water, and it is also related to the performance of the production equipment. When a variety of agents are used, the possible chemical reactions between the agents should be avoided.


Closed cooling water circulation system adopts closed cooling equipment, circulating water flows in pipe, and wind is usually used outside the tube. There are no other factors to change the water quality of the circulating water except for the material leakage of the heat exchange equipment. In order to prevent salt scaling in the heat exchange equipment, sometimes the cooling water needs to be softened. In order to prevent corrosion of heat exchangers, corrosion inhibitors are often added. Attention should be paid to the safety of highly concentrated and highly toxic corrosion inhibitors. The discharged cooling water should be properly disposed during maintenance.
